Public Safety Message:
Fall is here and we are into October. This is the time of year we should start to think about checking our boilers, wood stoves, pellet stoves and chimneys for any issues and cleaning.
We would like to send out a Safety Message on the importance of installing alternative heating devices and~checking the chimney they are connecting the unit to. Suggestions for existing installations is to check the fire brick in the stove for defects, the gaskets on the doors, the connection and valves for the propane units, cleaning of the pellet stove to manufacturers’ specifications and having the chimney cleaned by a professional at least once a year. These are all suggestions that can help prevent possible fires. October is the month to start thinking about safety of heating units.
